HDL1 Datalogger

HDL1 - Hydrology Data Logger (Available with integrated High Data Rate Goes Transmitter)

Over twenty-five years of field and design experience have gone into the Hydrology Data Logger. Simply stated this logger is the toughest, most reliable, simplest to use, and easiest to maintain logger.
If you struggle with programming, complex wiring, sensor calibration coefficients, analogue programming, wiring corrosion, reconfiguration complexity, lack of logger display, and difficult operator training then the HDL1 is your solution.

Features

Packaging
Extremely rugged watertight cast aluminum all-weather enclosure. Powder coated for maximum durability and corrosion protection. All exposed materials are aluminum and stainless steel.

Connectors
All connectors are waterproof circular military-style bayonet connectors with positive locking to prevent accidental disconnects. Each connector is labeled, color coded, and has a distinct socket eliminating connection errors.

Display
Sunlight readable all-weather low-power display allows you to take reading, view stored data, get current conditions, view data logger information, set logger timing, view telemetry options and system diagnostics. Display includes automated shut down mode.

Voltage Regulator
High efficiency built-in regulator for solar panels and battery charging. Greatly extends standby capacity for solar powered systems. Standard regulators for remote monitoring stations use considerable amounts of power, representing a significant power drain when the system is not charging (night time or if the solar panel has been damaged). HDL1 circuitry increases the standby power capacity of a typical solar powered station by up to 50%.

Reverse Polarity Protection
The HDL1 is protected from reverse connection to the battery, or accidental connection of two batteries in series. No fuses designed with self-resetting circuitry.

Data Storage
Stores up to 87,000 data records suitable for more than a year. Data is stored in a circular buffer in non-volatile memory that when filled, new data overwrites the oldest data. User data download is done manually and/or by optional autocalling software. Download data is always retained in data logger memory as backup until overwritten.

Programmability
Numerous pre-defined Data Logger Programs (DLPs) are available from FTS and are factory supplied, eliminating any operator programming requirement. In particular, TTS systems are delivered pre-programmed and ready to plug-and-play. User programming configuration is supported by Toolbox software. DLPs are stored in non-volatile memory so that in the event of a power disruption no programming information, configuration or sensor data is lost. Programs can be downloaded, modified and uploaded remotely.

Password Protection
Several key operations (setting the time, loading a new program, etc.) can be password protected in the data logger. This allows multiple user access to the data without risk of accidental data deletion or DLP modification. Master user can use password to access all key operations.

Audit Log
The data logger has an internal status Audit Log that keeps track of power interruptions, time changes, new program loads, etc. This supports diagnostic testing. The Audit Log is stored independent of the data storage and can also be interrogated remotely using communication links.

Data Quality Monitoring
The data logger keeps track of data failures, such as a sensor not responding, or returning out of range values. This type of error is tracked in the data file, rather than the internal status log, and is returned with the data from the data logger.
