FS-11 Fuel Stick Sensor

The FS-11 fuel stick provides an electronic measurement of the temperature and humidity inside a wooden dowel to indicate the relative dryness of forest fuel.

The FTS electronic fuel stick consists of two components: the FS-11 electronic fuel stick and a separate adaptor assembly that is used for mounting and connecting the fuel stick.  The adaptor assembly consists of a horizontal support arm with mast mounting brackets and an armored stainless steel cable.

FTS fuel sticks are based on a 10 hour fuel stick algorithm.  The dowels are manufactured from kiln-dried knot-free ponderosa pine with 10-14 rings per inch and are replaceable allowing for low maintenance and replacement costs.

The electronic temperature and humidity sensors are mounted inside the dowel, which acts to integrate the varying effects of direct sunshine, wind, rain, air temperature and humidity over a period of time.
